Taking Flight: North Terminal Expansion Breaks Ground at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport

Project partners, airport leadership, community stakeholders, and members of the Fitzgerald Gray Hagan Architects team recently gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of the North Terminal Expansion and TSA Relocation at Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport. The event marked the official start of construction on a major expansion project that will support the airport’s continued growth and enhance the overall passenger experience for years to come. The approximately 75,000 GSF, two-story terminal addition is designed to expand operational capacity while improving circulation and wayfinding throughout the facility. Planned enhancements include expanded ticketing areas, upgraded baggage claim facilities, additional concessions, improved seating and gathering spaces, and the relocation and enhancement of TSA operations to support more efficient passenger processing. The groundbreaking celebration reflected the shared excitement surrounding the airport’s continued evolution as a vital transportation hub for the region.
