Darrell A. Fitzgerald

Darrell A. Fitzgerald brings nearly 50 years of experience as a leader in the field of architectural planning and design for Fitzgerald Gray Hagan Architects. His professional background encompasses all aspects of architecture and interior design, including strategic project development, master planning, programming, design, and documentation of both architectural and interior design projects.
Before founding Fitzgerald Collaborative, now known as Fitzgerald Gray Hagan Architects, Darrell actively sought opportunities to advance his career through professional development. He spent 12 years as a Principal with Gensler in Atlanta and Houston, 20 years as Vice President and Managing Principal with John S. Chase, FAIA, in Dallas and Houston, and two years as Vice President of HKS in Atlanta.
Darrell’s professionalism, influence, and contributions to architecture were recognized when he was elected to the American Institute of Architects College of Fellows in 1996 for service to the profession. His leadership also extends through community service as Darrell has served on the Board of Directors for 100 Black Men of America, and as President and Chairman of the 100 Black Men of Atlanta. He has also served on the Boards of Metro Atlanta and Georgia Chambers of Commerce, Greater Atlanta Alliance and Fernbank Museum of Natural History. He is a 2005 graduate of Leadership Atlanta.
Darrell is committed to his profession, the clients he collaborates with on every project, and the communities he serves both locally and nationally. His passion for design is evident in everything he creates to manifest a client’s needs, aspirations and desires three dimensionally by marrying architecture with engineering, science and technology.
Darrell earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University Graduate School of Design.
